Jiaozuo City

Jiaozuo is a renowned scenic city in northwest Henan and the birthplace of Tai Chi. Key attractions include Yuntai Mountain (a UNESCO Global Geopark featuring Red Stone Gorge, Tanpu Gorge, and Zhuyu Peak, offering spectacular natural landscapes), Qingtian River (known as the 'Three Gorges of the North' with clear waters and red cliffs), Shennong Mountain, and Chenjiagou (the cradle of Tai Chi, where visitors can experience Tai Chi culture). The local cuisine is dominated by northern Henan flavours, including tender braised donkey meat in broth, spicy and sour Jiaozuo tofu dishes, crispy Jinxianshu sesame cakes, as well as nourishing and delicious dishes like Huai yam stewed chicken and stir-fried yam.
