Chongqing
Chongqing, also known as the 'Mountain City' and 'Fog Capital', is a magical city with a strong sense of three-dimensionality. The core attraction Hongya Cave features traditional Bayu stilted buildings, which are brilliantly lit at night, resembling a real-life scene from 'Spirited Away'. Jiefangbei is the city's landmark and commercial centre. The Yangtze River Cableway, known as the 'Aerial Bus', offers a panoramic view of the two rivers and four banks. Liziba Light Rail Station is famous for the spectacle of 'light rail passing through a building'. Ciqikou Ancient Town is full of quaint and rustic street vibes. The cuisine is represented by Chongqing hotpot, with its rich and spicy beef tallow broth; Chongqing noodles are fragrant, spicy and refreshing; dishes like Maoxuewang and Laziji are authentic local specialties with intense flavours that are irresistible.
