Shaoxing was historically known as Kuaiji and Shanyin, the hometown of Lu Xun, a classic Jiangnan water town. Key attractions include Lu Xun's Former Residence (Hundred-Plant Garden, Sanwei Study, experience the Shaoxing depicted in Lu Xun's writings), Shen Garden (the love story of Lu You and Tang Wan, classical Chinese garden), Keyan Scenic Area (unique rocks, ancient bridges, water-town scenery), and East Lake (take a wupeng boat ride, reflections of mountains and water).
