Heyuan

Heyuan is located in the northeastern part of Guangdong, an ancient Hakka city renowned as 'Green Heyuan' and 'Hometown of Dinosaurs'. The core attraction, Wanlu Lake, is the largest man-made lake in South China, with crystal-clear turquoise waters and over 360 islands scattered like stars; Huoshan features Danxia landforms, majestic and precipitous; the Bavaria Manor exudes German charm, and Yequ Ditch is hailed as 'Little Jiuzhaigou of Guangdong'. The cuisine is mainly Hakka-style, with Dongjiang salt-baked chicken boasting crispy skin and tender, savoury meat; the Wanlu Lake fish feast offers sweet and fresh flesh, best enjoyed steamed; stuffed tofu, radish cake, nine-layer rice cake, and pig trotter noodles are snacks full of rich Hakka local flavour.
