Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts
Kaohsiung CityKaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts is located in Gushan District, Kaohsiung, northeast of Shoushan Mountain, bordered by Zuoying District to the north, Sanmin District to the east, and the Love River flowing to the south. Originally a wetland area with scattered ponds known as Neiweipi, it was transformed into the first public art museum in southern Taiwan and has since become the most important art exhibition and promotion center in the southern region. In 2017, it was restructured as an administrative corporation under Kaohsiung's professional cultural institutions, continuing to cultivate local culture and collect works by Taiwanese artists. Annually, it supports emerging talents through initiatives like the "Kaohsiung Awards" and "KS Kaohsiung Experimental Field" open calls. Beyond curating thematic exhibitions and artist research showcases, it actively collaborates with museums worldwide to introduce diverse large-scale international exhibitions, offering the public a broader range of contemporary and modern art experiences.
