Seoul Climate Companion Card Guide for Travellers
Travelling around Seoul is straightforward when utilising integrated public transport passes. The Climate Companion Card is an integrated regular pass that permits unlimited use of public transport services, including subways, buses, Ttareungyi public bicycles, and the Hangang bus, during a selected usage period after a single fare top-up.
Scope of Service and Coverage
The pass covers specific networks within the metropolitan area. Users can access subways in the Seoul region along with designated Gyeonggi sections, city and village buses licensed by Seoul city, Ttareungyi, and the Hangang bus.

However, certain lines are excluded from the service range. Users cannot board the Shinbundang Line, GTX, subways located outside the Seoul region, metropolitan or airport buses, or buses licensed by other regional authorities. For buses, Seoul-licensed city and village buses can be utilised even when boarding or alighting outside the Seoul region, including trunk, branch, village, late-night, and circular buses.
For subways, passengers must board within the service range. If a passenger boards within the range and alights at a station outside the coverage, such as boarding at Jongno 3-ga in Seoul and alighting at Indeokwon in Gyeonggi, the pass cannot be used. The station staff will collect a separate fare covering the full trip from the boarding station to the destination, and one un-tagged exit will be recorded.
Exceptions apply when boarding within the service range and alighting at specific outer stations, such as Seoknam to Kachiul on Line 7, or Incheon International Airport Terminal 1 to Terminal 2 on the Airport Railroad. Boarding at these specific outer stations is not permitted.

* Physical Card: Purchase a physical card for 3,000 won at Seoul Metro station customer service kiosks on Lines 1 to 8, or at convenience stores near stations on Line 9, Ui-Sinseol Line, and Sillim Line. How to Use the Card
Users must tag their mobile or physical card when boarding and alighting subways and buses.
Failing to tag out twice accumulates two missed tags, resulting in a 24-hour service suspension starting from the most recent boarding time.
